Samsung Galaxy S5 spotted online at a price of Rs 45,500

The listing was published on Saholic.com but was immediately removed.

Samsung Galaxy S5 was recently put up for pre-order on Saholic for Rs 45,500. However the listing has been pulled down from the online store, casting doubts on when it will hit Indian stores.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone has a 5.1 inch super AMOLED capacitive touch screen, with 16 M colors and 1080 x 1920 pixels screen resolution. It has a dust and water resistant body and comes with an inbuilt Finger Print Scanner for additional security.

The Galaxy S5 runs on Android v4.4.2 (KitKat) OS and has a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor. It has 2GB of RAM and 16/32 GB of internal storage expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card slot. For  connectivity, the smartphone supports GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC and USB support.

The S5 has a 16 MP auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and a 2 MP front camera for video calling. It has an inbuilt accelerometer, humidity, gesture and heart rate sensors. The Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone will be launched in Black, White, Gold and Blue colors.

The smartphone will be released in 150 countries on 11 April on Samsung's retail stores and e-commerce sites. Saholic listed the Samsung Galaxy S5 (16GB) at Rs 45,500 (around $735) in India, which is Rs 10,000 cheaper than western countries. It's launch price is higher than the Samsung Galaxy S4, which was launched at Rs 41,500 (16GB variant) in April last year. Recently, Samsung also slashed down the rates of its former flagship smartphone- the Galaxy S4, which is available at Rs 30,000 in India.

Saholic claims to deliver the Samsung Galaxy S5 by March 7th.

Samsung's new flagship smartphone 'Galaxy S5' is scheduled to be available in 150 countries starting April. The smartphone, however, has already made appearance on the Indian e-commerce retailer – Saholic.com – with price tag of Rs. 45,500. Saholic has listed the 16GB version of the Galaxy S5, and promises delivery of the handset by March 7th.

According to reports, the Galaxy S5 price in India for the 16GB variant is lower than retailer listings from the UK and Germany, which is about $1000. Lower price indicates Samsung wants to compete with other flagship smartphones in this segment. LG just launched its G2 LTE version in India for Rs. 46,000. Samsung is expected to price its flagship around the same price.
Listing of the Galaxy S5 comes shortly after several e-commerce sites dropped price of the Samsung Galaxy S4 to Rs. 30,000. Samsung recently launched a buy back scheme for the Galaxy S4, offering a discount of Rs. 10,000 discount.
